PLAYMAKERS PROGRAM STARTS IN SERBIA

15.11.2021.

This autumn the FA of Serbia has launched UEFA Disney Playmakers, and since October the project has started in almost 30 kindergartens and sports schools throughout Serbia. UEFA and Disney have created Playmakers, the largest European program for girls, which aims to empower them to make the first step on their football journey with this magical world of imagination, and Serbia is one of the seven countries where the project has started this year.

Together with educated coaches and supported by the Disney cartoons magic, almost 600 girls, age 5 -8, in several cities and villages in Serbia, learn the basics of football and develop their motor and life skills every week. The project partners are Happy Kids at their nine locations, Fantasy, Bibi Dečiji svet, Mala Oaza and Eko zvezda from Belgrade, then Lebane Sports School, Gymnastics Club Niš, Dositej Obradović, Kole Rašič and ZumZum preschools from Niš, while Lastavica, Kolibri, Ciciban, Zeka, Alisa and Sanda Marjanović are implementing the program in Subotica.

This project’s goal is to empower girls to be healthy and self-confident, to make friends, to learn important life skills and fall in love with football, and great support also came from the women’s football clubs Mašinac, Crvena zvezda, Heroj, Mačva and Spartak. It is for sure they will find their future football stars among these girls.
