FA OF SERBIA HOSTS THE UEFA SEMINAR IN STARA PAZOVA

The Sports Center of the Football Association of Serbia this week is home to representatives of 12 national associations, as well as UEFA, who are participating in a seminar on the topic of Flexible formats and development paths for players.

The football associations of Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Turkey will stay in Serbia until Thursday, and during the three-day study visit they will participate in various workshops, while they will also have the opportunity to get familiar with the work of the Grassroots football sector of the Football Association of Serbia. Helen Croft, Stuart Griff, Les Howie and Vladmir Luptak, representatives of the UEFA Grassroots department, will be lecturers and workshop moderators, and there will be two special guests – Per Ravn Omdal, former UEFA Vice-president, and Grassroots Ambassador, as well as Ulf-Rauno Markard, UEFA Grassroots football specialist.

The honorary president of the Football Association of Norway and one of the initiators of Grassroots football in Europe, greeted the participants at the very beginning.

“I am honored to be here in Serbia and in this great sports center.” I look forward to working with all of you who are dedicated to Grassroots football in the coming days and together we will make sure that you go back to your national associations enthusiastic and full of new ideas for the improvement of our beautiful sport. Thank you to the Football Association of Serbia and Ruža Ilić for the hospitality”, said Mr. Omdal.

The seminar was opened on behalf of the FSS by Ruža Ilić, Manager for Grassroots football, and she wished all the participants good work and a pleasant stay in Serbia.

“We are grateful that UEFA gave us the honor to hold a seminar on this important topic, I am sure that we will be excellent hosts.” In the past period, we made a big step forward and the results show that we are among the most successful Associations when it comes to Grassroots football projects. We want to continue that trend and create an opportunity in Serbia for everyone who wants to play football. Such seminars give us the opportunity to present our performance, but also to learn from others and find the best solutions for implementing the program. Many thanks to the UEFA mentors for their support and trust!”

The stay of the delegation of the European house of football in the Sports Center in Stara Pazova was also an ideal moment for a meeting with the managers of the Football Association of Serbia, and during the first day of the seminar, representatives of the UEFA grassroots football sector met with the General Secretary of the FA of Serbia Mr. Jovan Šurbatović, as well as the Director of the Sports Sector, Mr. Miroslav Tanjga.

At the end of the theoretical part, the participants went to the pitch of the Football Association of Belgrade on Ada, where the coaches of the “Prima Fortuna” and “Banovo brdo” Football Schools presented the practical application of flexible formats. By the end of the seminar, a grassroots football festival will be held in the FA of Serbia Sports Center, where 70 boys and girls aged 10-12 will participate, Volunteers of the FA of Serbia and coaches attending the educational program for obtaining the UEFA C diploma within the CEFT Football Association of Belgrade.

Football Club “Voždovac” will present work with the base of its youth school, that trains at the unique stadium on the roof of the “Stadion” Shopping center, which will allow participants to see in practice the work of a Super League club with youth.
