HONOR AND RECOGNITION FOR THE HEAD COACH OF THE NATIONAL TEAM OF SERBIA | DRAGAN STOJKOVIC AWARDED WITH THE ORDER OF KARADJORDJE STAR OF THE SECOND DEGREE

On the occasion of -Vidovdan- the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, awarded a prominent individuals and institutions, including the Head Coach of the Serbian national football team. Dragan Stojković with the -Order of the Star of Karadjordje- of the second degree. A great honor and recognition for the legendary player and coach.

– It is a great honor to receive such a great Country recognition on this great day in Serbia. If you allow me to apply the sports logic of ranking on this occasion as well, this day and this moment will surely enter the final competition of my favorite life memories. I am convinced that I share this feeling with everyone who receives awards today, so I will take this opportunity to congratulate all the other winners and express my great personal respect for their achievements and merits. The recognition I received today was sent to my name and surname, but I understand it as a recognition to all those who participated in the victories I celebrated, and even the defeats from which I learned.

My family, the teams I played for and coached, many teammates, coaches, players, staff, even more audiences and fans, they are all responsible for this moment. Today and here, in front of all of you, I accept the recognition both in my own name and in their name, grateful for every opportunity that was given to me, for all the wishes I fulfilled and for all the hopes I justified. I will try to continue to behave like that, aware that every social recognition is much more a social obligation than a personal award. Awards are often an expression of support. At this moment, I am happy to understand and that is why I accept this order as a support to the entire Serbian national football team to continue with successes and achieve the best results at the World Cup – said Dragan Stojković.
