The National Theater, the temple of Serbian culture, hosted the closing ceremony marking the golden jubilee – the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Football Association of Serbia, and the annual FSS “Golden Ball of Serbia” awards to the best male and female football player and best coach in 2019.
In the presence of the representatives of the state of Serbia, Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, Ministers of the Government of Serbia, UEFA President Alexander Čeferin and his associates, numerous legends of Serbian and Yugoslav football, distinguished members from many spheres of social and sports life, the FSS ceremony was divided into two program parts . The first was a theater play that led the audience through time, from the day it was founded (April 13, 1919) until today, and the second, the ceremonial part, when the FSS Golden Ball awards were awarded to the best individuals of the year.
UEFA President, Mr. Aleksander Čeferin, greeted the FSS President Mr. Slaviša Kokeza, and congratulated the Football Association of Serbia on its centenary, presenting the special recognition of UEFA. The FSS President Mr. Slaviša Kokeza handed the Čeferin the Golden Pin of the Football Association of Serbia. A special recognition was awarded to Zoran Laković, UEFA National Associations’ Director.
After the awards were given to UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin and former General Secretary of FSS and now UEFA National Associations’ Director Zoran Laković, a special theater play began, a journey through time…
