A FINAL DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS | KNOWLEDGE FOR EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AND EQUALITY, PLAY FOOTBALL AND BE HAPPY

Within the project KNOWLEDGE FOR EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AND EQUALITY, the final day of the CHAMPIONS tournament was held on the pitches of the FA of Belgrade on Ada Ciganlija.

The partners in the project are the Football Association of Serbia and the KMF Mungosi, all within the Football and Social Responsibility program. The FA of Serbia was represented by Aleksandra Ćupović, Head of the General Affairs and KMF Mungosi represented by Aleksandar Kovačević, a legendary futsal player, a successful Head Coach of the National Team. It is worth to note that the project is being implemented for the second year in a row and consists of several transit positions (webinars, seminars and a tournament).

The first part of the project consisted of webinars in the period November-March, in Serbian and English. The main goal of this part of the project is to gather the most professional staff from the country and the region who deal with and help people with disabilities, who can transfer an enormous experiences and knowledge to all entities participating in the program for this population. The learned knowledge is most applicable in the sports game FOOTBALL!

The second part of the project consisted of seminars in 4 towns (Subotica, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Aleksinac), as well as a one-day professional meeting at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, University of Belgrade. The main goal of this part of the project is to improve the quality of professional work with children with disabilities and permanent education of professional staff.

The final part of the project, all with the aim of increasing the visibility and massiveness of the project, is called “REGIONAL FOOTBALL COMPETITION – CHAMPIONS” where teams from Serbia took part, playing the “CHAMPIONS 2022” league during April and May.

During the final day, several teams from Belgrade (6 teams), Zrenjanin, Novi Sad, Subotica, Kragujevac (2 teams), Nis and teams from: Croatia, North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina took part. The total number of participants in the final day was over 150 participants.

And finally, instead of a conclusion, a clear message of the main goal of the project, which is “APPLYING INCLUSION THROUGH FOOTBALL AND JUSTIFYING THE PROJECT SLOGAN PLAY FOOTBALL AND BE HAPPY – IT’S A FEATURE OF CHAMPION”.
