PLAYMAKER SEMINAR AT THE HOUSE OF FOOTBALL (VIDEO)

The Football Association of Serbia has been chosen by UEFA for the Playmakers pilot project, and the seminar was held at the Football House on Monday, which was attended by educators who have undergone UEFA training as well as the women’s football clubs that were interested to take part.

Playmakers is a sporting activity like no other that offers a fun and safe way for girls aged five to eight to get to know football through movement, play and the magic of Disney storytelling. The goal of the program is to empower girls to be healthy and confident, to make friends, learn important life skills and fall in love with football.

Six teachers who attended the UEFA training for the implementation of the Playmakers program gathered on Monday at the Football House in Stara Pazova to set the groundwork for the implementation of the program in kindergartens and pre-schools, and the representatives of Women’s football clubs joined them. ZFK Mašinac, ZFK Heroj, ZFK Spartak, ZFK Crvena zvezda and ZFK Macva responded to the invitation to join the program as participants or partners, the Football Association of Serbia handed them the sports equipment as a present at the seminar on the occasion of the “Football is for girls” campaign.

UEFA’s mentor for Serbia, John Ackerley, also addressed to all persons present at the event, who pointed out the positive energy, as well as the enthusiasm and creativity of the FA of Serbia representatives and wished them luck in the further realization of the program.

One of the teachers, Milica Stanković, a Serbian national team player who is a Pedagogue by profession, thinks that this is a great way for as many girls as possible to fall in love with football.

“Before the training, I did not fully understand how it is possible to combine Disney and football, but after great workshops and group work with UEFA mentors, I am sure that this is an innovative and great way to popularize women’s football and help girls gain through football and play. self-confidence, future active and living a healthy life “, pointed out Stanković.

Ruža Ilić, Grassroots Manager in the Football Association of Serbia and the organizer of the seminar, confirmed Stanković’s position and added:

The FA of Serbia campaign called “Football is for girls” reached the enthusiasm of the public and it was set the foundation for the further development of women’s football and a program such as Playmakers, which aims to attract girls and motivate them to play football. It is great that among the teachers we have coaches who work with girls, but also Milica, who is a member of the National Team is a real example and motivation for the girls who were part of the Playmakers “, concluded Ilić.

The Playmakers program will begin in September, and it will last for 10 weeks in kindergartens and pre-schools throughout Serbia.
