VOJVODINA - WINNER OF CUP OF SERBIA | PARTIZAN DEFEATED AFTER THE “PENALTY DRAMA” (VIDEO)

The football players of Vojvodina are the winners of 2019/20 Cup of Serbia. In the final match that was played in Niš at the “Čair” stadium, they defeated Partizan after the regular 2: 2 (1: 0) and the penalty drama – 4: 2! This is the second national cup trophy in the history of this club from Novi Sad.

Coaches Nenad Lalatović and Savo Milošević could count on their best teams and the Novi Sad red and whites took advantage of lack of concentration in the back line of Partizan and took the lead before the end of the first part of the game. The Belgrade team had the opportunity to equalize, but again one moment of carelessness in the defense of the black and whites and the inspiration of Bojić contributed to double advantage of Vojvodina. Partizan managed to reduce the score through the young Filip Stevanović (80’), and then in 90 + 6’ a fantastic goal by Strahinja Pavlović brought the extra time to the match.

In the next half hour, there were no goals and the penalty shootout started. In the second series, Vitas missed, in the fourth Zdjelar, on the other hand all the Vojvodina penalty-shooters were precise and the Serbian Cup trophy goes to Novi Sad.
