UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE | THE EAGLES IN THE GROUP A4 WITH SPAIN, DENMARK, AND SWITZERLAND

By the will of the draw in Paris and the draw guest Juan Mata, the legendary Spanish player, who drew the pairs of the League A, the Serbian national team will play in the Nations League group A4, together with Spain, Denmark, and Switzerland.

For the first time, the quarterfinals will be played in the Nations League, which means that the two best teams from each group will play for the final. The group phase will be staged in September, October, and November 2024. The quarterfinals will be played in March 2025, and semifinals and finals in June. The tournament host will be announced later.

The group winners will be promoted to the higher league, the last placed team will be relegated to the lower one. Participation and every win and good results will be assessed separately. It is important to note that Serbia and all other teams from the League A have the opportunity to qualify for the European Championship through the Nations League. Group winners automatically go to the play-offs, but if they secure their 2026 World Cup qualifications through the 2025 qualifications, then their places will be taken by runner-up teams, third placed or fourth placed teams. So, total of four teams from the UNL will go to the play-offs for the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
