FA OF SERBIA CHOSES THEIR TEAM BASE CAMP | THE EAGLES IN AUGSBURG DURING THE EURO 2024 GROUP STAGE (VIDEO)

UEFA EURO 2024 group stage draw grouped the Serbia national team with England, Slovenia, and Denmark in Group C and, according to the UEFA regulations, that decided for the Eagles base camp to be in the southern part of Germany.

Already in 2022, the national associations were obliged to make a short list of four cities according to geographical zones (northeast, west, south) and decide on the final one after the draw.

Further to the requests of the head coach Dragan Stojković and his technical staff regarding the accommodation during the European Championship, a decision was made for our best team to be based in Augsburg, at the Hotel Maximilian’s, with the use of the Rosenaustadion training centre.

This choice was logical, given the fact that the Serbian national team will play their last two group matches in Munich at the Allianz Arean, which is close to Augsburg, hence the team will no be burdened when travelling. Furthermore, great care was taken to ensure that the accommodation and training conditions were in accordance with the highest professional standards.

Hotel Maximilian’s is a five-star hotel and is ideal for accommodation for sports teams. The German national team and the clubs such as Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund used to stay at this hotel. The training centre is 10 minutes away from the hotel and has the highest quality grass pitch.

You can find more information about the base camp and training centre in Augsburg on the UEFA website. UEFA regulations state that for the final tournament, the participating teams must arrive at their selected team base camp at least five days before their first group match.

Until that match, our best team will have four test matches, two in Match and two in June. In the coming days the FA of Serbia will announce the dates of the friendlies and the opponents.
