Serbia started the match well, and in the first half of the match there was practically no excitement. Spain had more possession, but our National Team seemed secure in all the lines of the team. The second half brought more excitement and the first joy for our team. Once again, the great Matija Popović finished the whole job, it was his new assist in the championship, after an excellent performance in the match against Italy, but also in the second half of the match against Slovenia.

Popović found Maksimović at the far goalpost, who scored a goal. Ten minutes after, Spain equalized, but as Italy was convincing against Slovenia (3:0) in the second match of the day, the place in the quarter-finals of the European Championship was practically secured.
