FA OF SERBIA TOP MANAGEMENT VISIT TO UEFA AND PRESIDENT ČEFERIN

At the invitation of UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin, FA of Serbia President Dragan Džajić and General Secretary Jovan Šurbatović paid an official visit to Nyon earlier this Tuesday and use the opportunity to talk with the head of the European house of football and his closest associate Zoran Laković.

Džajić and Šurbatović introduced president Čeferin to the strategic goals of our FA in the next four years, which primarily relate to joint investments in infrastructure and grass surfaces, the construction of the FA’s administrative building, establishing the FAS Academy and the possibility for Serbia to host one of the youth categories European Championship final tournaments.

They also discussed Serbia’s potential bid to host 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, and it was also noted that construction of the national stadium with capacity of 50,000 also meant a real chance to organize UEFA Europa League or UEFA Conference League final match.

Once again, president Čeferin praised efforts of the FA of Serbia, which, fully supported by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, properly use UEFA funds intended for the infrastructure development and creating a better image on football pitches throughout the country.

It was reconfirmed that Belgrade would host the UEFA HatTrick Committee meeting on 4th October 2023, and it is almost certain that one of the UEFA Referee organization next seminars will also be held at the FAS Sports Centre in Stara Pazova.

One of the topics at the meeting of UEFA and FAS top management was Belgrade’s potential bid to host the UEFA Congress in the coming years.
