01.03.2023.

In the FA of Serbia Sports Centre in Stara Pazova, futsal national team (men) attended a lecture on anti-doping in football.

This medical education project for men and women national teams has been financed by UEFA, and is implemented by experts in this field, medical doctors Marija Anđelković and Nenad Dikić, headed by the project manager and a representative of the FA of Serbia, Dejan Aleksandrić, MD, a prominent orthopeadic surgeon who has been the Serbia men national team doctor for years.

“It is essential for as many players (both women and men) as possible, especially in the youth national teams, to become familiar with permitted and prohibited substances, so they would carefully choose and control medicines and supplementation that directly affect their health, performance and recovery”, concluded Dr. Aleksandrić.

In addition to the anti-doping education topic, a campaign by UEFA and FIFPRO has been implemented through lectures to the national teams, about importance of appropriate reactions during concussions occurring during a training session or a match, which is why there was a medical VAR team appointed at the recently held World Cup in Qatar and a special analysis was made in order to protect the health of the players as much as possible.

FA of Serbia, led by Dr. Aleksandrić follow all medical guidelines and adapt educations accordingly. Apart from the national teams, doctors of the Super League teams will also attend lectures on various health topics.
