ALL FOR SLOVENIA | VICE-PRESIDENT NEDIMOVIĆ AND GENERAL SECRETARY ŠURBATOVIĆ AT A HUMANITARIAN MATCH IN SLOVENIA

In order to raise funds for helping individuals affected by the floods, UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin organized a charity football match at the Stožice stadium on Friday evening, with all the income collected from sponsorship, ticket sales and voluntary individual donations (3,512,031 euros) intended for the charity foundation “PREPROSTO BLIZU”, founded and managed by RADIO 1 – the largest commercial radio station in Slovenia.

The foundation will distribute funds to those who need it most. Many football stars, including numerous winners of the World Cup and the Champions League, answered the call to action and enhanced the event.

Football Association of Serbia supported the event and those in need by funding the cause, and at the invitation of the President Čeferin attended the charity match in Ljubljana, represented by the Vice President Branislav Nedimović and General Secretary Jovan Šurbatović.

Blue team: coached by the famous Slovenian coach Matjaž Kek, players: Gianluigi Buffon, Boštjan Cesar, Levan Kobiashvili, Zvonimir Boban, Dimitar Berbatov, Marcos Tavares, Paolo Maldini, Vedran Ćorluka, Klarens Seedorf, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Predrag Mijatović, Miroslav Klose, Eric Abidal, Javier Zanetti, Miran Pavlin, Milivoje Novaković and Davor Šuker.

Red team: coached by Fabio Capello, players: former stars of FK Crvena zvezda Dejan Savićević, Nemanja Vidić and Milenko Aćimović, together with former FK Partizan player Branko Ilić, and Luis Figo, Giorgios Karagounis, Ivica Olić, Andriy Shevchenko, Darijo Srna, Mišo Brečko, Robert Pires, Hamit Altintop, Mario Mandžukić, David James, Mikael Silvestre, Bojan Jokić, Robert Koren, Aljoša Asanović and Oliver Bierhoff.

The match was widely covered, in region and internationally, with the largest Slovenian commercial TV station POP TV and one of the largest global TV networks BeIN Sport, and it was broadcasted in 27 countries worldwide.
