The Head Coach of the National Team of Serbia, Slavojub Muslin announced the players for the upcoming qualifying matches against Moldova (02.09) and the Republic of Ireland (05.09).

The selected players are:

Goalkeepers: Vladimir Stojković, Predrag Rajkovic, Aleksandar Jovanovic and Marko Dmitrovic

Defenders: Branislav Ivanović, Jagoš Vukovic, Stefan Mitrovic, Nikola Maksimovic, Matija Nastasic, Aleksandar Kolarov, Uros Spajic, Ivan Obradovic and Antonio Rukavina,

Midfielders: Ljubomir Fejsa, Luka Milivojevic, Nemanja Matic, Nemanja Gudelj and Nemanja Maksimovic,

Forwards: Dušan Tadić, Filip Kostic, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Adem Ljajic, Andrija Pavlovic, Mijat Gaćinović and Aleksandar Prijić.

At the press conference, the Head Coach of our national team, pointed out that the first following match against Moldova is the most important.

“There are two very important matches ahead of us, and the wish is the only one, to stay first in the qualifying group after the September matches as well,” said Slavoljub Muslin.

-I said earlier that the doors of the National team are opened to everyone, they are opened to anyone who can help and is always welcomed. We followed the performance of Ljajić during the preparation period and we concluded that he could help us in the forthcoming matches.

Moldova comes to Belgrade, and then Serbia travels to Dublin …

There are no decisive matches, it may be the last one. We have four matches more, there are 12 points available and every match is important. We are thinking now about Moldova, then we have the match against the Republic of Ireland. Am I satisfied with the current result? I can be satisfied because we are the first in our qualifying group, and perhaps in some matches we could have achieved better result, but I would not mind that the situation remains like this at the end of qualifying matches.

Ljajić was selected, and the door remained opened to all players, and also for Sergej Milinković – Savić.

– I always have the opinion that the players I have selected are the best for the matches that are ahead of us. The selection of Ljajic also confirms what I said previously, i.e. the doors are not closed to anyone. Where do I see Ljajic? His performance is excellent, we were following him during the preparation period and I see him in our system right behind the forward player …

The first goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic can not play against Moldova due to a yellow card suspension …

– We shall see who would be the goalkeeper for the match against Moldova. Stojkovic has a suspension due to yellow cards, and after the match against Moldova we’ll think about the match in Dublin.
