04.05.2023.

One of the important decisions passed at the Executive Committee meeting is the change of the date of the 2022/23 Serbian Cup final match, which will be played on 25th May 2023. The decision on the venue will be made at the next meeting of the Executive Committee.

Report on the performance of the FA of Serbia youth categories was submitted, good results were highlighted, namely our U-17 team qualified for the European Championship, second time in a row. As a reminder, our U-17 team won third place at the last European Championship in Israel. The Executive Committee expressed its satisfaction with work of the head-coaches managing the teams of U-17, (-18 and U-19. At the same time, they voiced their dissatisfaction with the performance of the U-21 team, which is preparing for the European Championship qualifier. In this connection, it was decided to terminate the contract with Goran Stevanović, and the new U-21 head-coach will be named in the coming period.

Members of the Executive Committee are familiar with the current infrastructure situation in Serbia, conditions of the stadiums and for licensing. 44 stadiums in Serbia were visited, and all in accordance with the provisions of the relevant regulations on the licensing of the FA of Serbia clubs for the UEFA competitions, Super League and First League, i.e. the fulfilment of infrastructure criteria. For the first time in the licensing procedure, Serbian League clubs (4 groups) are also taking part, having submitted application for a licence to compete in the 2023/2024 First League. It is important to emphasize that, thanks to the initiative and investments of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, our country will soon have three new stadiums – in cities of Leskovac, Loznica and Zaječar, and they will meet strict UEFA standards. New stadiums will also be built in Pančevo, Belgrade, Zrenjanin, and Kragujevac, with a reminder that the construction of the National stadium (capacity 55,000) will definitely begin this year.
