The Football National Team of Serbia has won the National Team of the Republic of Ireland (2.1) in a friendly match played at the “Aviva” Stadium in Dublin. The home team has taken the lead with a goal scored by Long after 8 minutes of play but in the second half the own goal by McCarthy and a goal by Filip Đorđević has led to the complete change of the score. In this match Ljubinko Drulovic has led the national team of Serbia for the first time as the Acting Head Coach and the National Team of Serbia, especially in the second half dominated completely and it deserved the win by which the continuity of good performances and results is extended.

Hulahan scored a goal in the 2nd minute of play, but the goal was disallowed as the assistant referee signalised the offside position, however, 6 minutes later, the home team has taken the lead. After the misunderstanding betweem Branislav Ivanovic and the goalkeeper Stojkovic, Long was concentrated in a 1 on 1 situation with the goalkeeper Stojkovic and scored a goal. Bisevac tried very quikcly with a header, after the corner kick by Tadic but the shot was right into the hands of the goalkeeper Ford. Markovic has also taken a shot, after a good combination between Tadic and Đorđević, but again Ford saved it and this period of the offensive play of our national team was confirmed by header of Ivanovic, but his shot was stopped by McCarthy on a goal-line.

Shane Long had a fantastic opportunity in the 30th minute of play , after the quick counter-attack, he was again alone in the position in front of the goalkeeper Stojkovic, but the goalkeeper of “Eagles” had brilliant reactions in both situations and stopped the shots. Tadic has also tried to score, as being on the edge of the penalty area, it was a nice lob shot, but the goalkeeper Ford had an enormous effort to save a goal and at the end it was the corner kick for the National Team of Serbia.

In the 48th minute of play, the National Team of Serbia had a precise combination, Matić-Kolarov, Đorđević which forced McCarthy to score and own goal and equalise the result. Five minutes after, there was a mistake by our defensive line and Long was again alone in front of our goal and he tried a lob shot but the ball went just wide. The total change of the result occured in the 60th minute of play. An excellent team work of our players led to the goal scored by Filip Đorđević.

Our players had the total domination and control and the match was ended in a routine manner.
