THE DAY WHEN THE PHYSICS - DEFYING GOAL WAS SCORED (VIDEO)

It is 23 years since, for many football fans one of the most spectacular and iconic free-kicks of all times was scored. Scorer of that famous, physics-defying goal was Roberto Carlos, playing for Brazil in a match against France on June 3rd 1997. Carlos smashed a free kick from about 30m that somehow curled back round and found its way past Fabien Barthez who was left deceived and surprised and had hardly moved looking at the ball moving from the post on its way in…

It is interesting to note that on June 3rd 1934 Yugoslav National Team won in a friendly match with Brazil, played at the BSK stadium, with the result 8:4 (2:2). Scorers were Stevović, Glišović (2), Moša Marjanović (3), Petrak and Tirnanić. It was the last victory of our team in the matches played against Brazil.
