EURO 2024 | BRAVE SERBIA LEFT WITHOUT A PRIZE, DENMARK CELEBRATES THE DRAW

In the third match of the group stage of the European Championship in Germany, The Serbian national team played vs. Denmark, without goals – 0:0. After the epilogue in the second duel of the group, where England and Slovenia also played without a winner, Serbia ended its participation in the summit of the best European national teams. The Eagles made a huge effort, showed a high level of combativeness, desire and will, and the impression is that only a little luck was missing, in order to, certainly deservedly, win a place in the next stage of the competition. This is how even a draw sometimes hurts like a defeat.

The first part of the game was tactically very demanding, with practically no scoring opportunities. The goalkeepers had nothing to do until the 21st minute, and then, after one mistake, Eriksen shot from about 20 meters away, but Rajković managed to save with his fingertips. This was followed by a corner kick for the Danes, which brought a lot of commotion in our penalty area, fortunately without consequences. On the other hand, we also looked for space behind the back line, but there was no work for Schmeichel. The rivals were literally looking for the opponent’s mistake, but the result says it all.

Serbia dominated, selector Stojković put all the cards on the attack, Vlahović and Mitrović and Jović were also in the game, and Tadić from the first minute of the resumption. A lot of excitement before Schmeichel’s goal, but in the end there were no goals. Brave Serbia was left without a prize, Denmark celebrates a draw.
