02.08.2023.

A day to remember, the day when Serbia became the European champion! The first day of August in 2013 will remain written in golden letters in the history of our national football. Serbian U-19 team won the French in the grand final in Lithuania, and ten years later, in Ub, the city of football legends, FA of Serbia celebrate this great jubilee – a decade since the historic success.

There was a full house in the community culture centre, with the scenography that reminded those present of the greatest successes of Serbian national football, the European and world titles won in Lithuania and New Zealand; there were many children, future champions. On this occasion, FA of Serbia donated 1250 books “European and World Champion”, reading about the winning path of two great generations, to the children of the Kolubara district (registered players, boys and girls under the age of 19).

The ceremony was enhanced by the presence and emotional storytelling of people who left a great mark during winning the European and world titles, the then member of the youth director team of the FA, Mitar Mrkela and head-coach of the U-17 team that became immortal in Lithuania, Ljubinko Drulović. There was also a witness and participant in winning both titles, team manager, but also a reporter from New Zealand, one of the co-authors of the book, Igor Gačić.

A little bit of stories, a little bit of applause and photos and the film that will not be forgotten, a bit of scores from Lithuania and New Zealand, with they who had actives roles there, in their address via video link, Nemanja Maksimović and Marko Pavlovski. A day and even to be remembered by everyone, and great credit for a fantastic picture from Ub goes to the President of the FAR West Serbia, Nebojša Živanović and of course, the first man of the city experiencing a real boom, the Mayor of Ub, Darko Glišić.

FA of Serbia was represented by Youth Categories Director, Nikola Lazetić, who addressed those present, Youth Teams Coordinator, Igor Matić, and youth teams coaches Dušan Đorđević, Radovan Krivokapić, Aleksandar Luković and Jovan Damjanović.
