THE EAGLES IN RAZGRAD | HEAD COACH DRAGAN STOJKOVIĆ AND TEAM CAPTAIN DUŠAN TADIĆ BEFORE THE MATCH WITH BULGARIA, TRAINING SESSION

20.06.2023.

On Tuesday, 20th June, Serbia team will play its third EURO qualifications match, with final tournament to be played in Germany in 2024. The opponent is Bulgaria, and the match venue is Razgrad. One day before the match and just before the last training session prior to the match, a press conference was held, attended by head coach Dragan Stojković and team captain Dušan Tadić.

What’s the mood of the team before the match with Bulgaria? Are there any problems or concerns?

-We came here in high spirits. We can se a nice pitch, and nice stadium. All the players are ready and available, said head coach Stojković. Do I have any doubts? No, I don’t. The team that can play well will enter the pitch.

How does Dušan Tadić feel? It’s the June date, how important is the match, are you fresh enough at the end of the season?

-The June date is a bit specific for everyone, but I think we are all great professionals, aware of the importance of this match. We play for our country, we have worked well and prepared physically and mentally, enough to give our best, Dušan Tadić leaves no doubt.

Serbian journalists were interested in coach Stojković’s opinion about the Bulgarian team.

-I have respect for them, there is no underestimation, we have to be careful and with full respect for the team of Bulgaria. That is how we will behave, the head coach made it clear. There are several excellent players in the Bulgarian team, very good ones. Those who underestimate them will have big problems.

What about their head coach, Mladen Krstajić?

-Mladen Krstajić is a great friend of mine, and the Bulgarian team and he himself have problems because they did not start well and will do everything to get the points. We will be careful; we are focused on us. Tomorrow we will be sports enemies, but of course, we will remain great friends.

Where to look for Serbia’s advantage?

-Before the qualifiers started, we had said that every match would be like the final match. Tomorrow is the third final match, we have managed to win in two finals against Lithuania and Montenegro, we want to continue in that rhythm. We will try to set the pace of our style, to be dominant, so that can give an advantage. We came to Razgrad to play a good match and to win. In any case, it won’t be easy – pointed our head coach Stojković.
