A MEDICAL EDUCATION FOR DOCTORS OF NATIONAL TEAMS AND SUPER LEAGUE OF SERBIA HAS BEEN ORGANISED

06.04.2023.

The Football Association of Serbia, through the Medical Committee, apart from the primary activities that are under their jurisdiction, actively works to improve the knowledge and support to medical staff who share their knowledge and expertise with football teams.

After education on the topic of the Anti-doping, with the help of UEFA, the FA of Serbia Medical Committee led by the President prof. Dr. Nebojša Tasić, Vice-president and Doctor of the A team, Dr. Dejan Aleksandrić and members: Prof. Dr. Svetozar Putnik and Associate. Dr. Boško Milevi, held the FDEP 1 course, i.e. “Education program for doctors in football – trauma and emergencies”.

The mentioned education would not have been possible without the support of Emergency Doctors, as well as the lecturer Dr. Ivana Stefanović and Dr. Danijela Tasić – Uroš.

Dr. Aleksandrić, a specialist in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, points out that such a practical approach to the education of doctors with examples from the pitch is of a key importance for quality response in the pitch itself.

“Within the education, the real examples that can happen in football were used, for which we have to emphasize that they are in very limited conditions on the pitch itself and where a quick reaction is of a crucial importance. The support of Emergency Doctors helped us a lot here, because they face such working conditions every day and in a much more difficult form than is the case in sports.

With the support of UEFA, the FA of Serbia Medical Committee will continue to increase the number of doctors that will undergo this type of education and also to conduct additional, narrowly specialized education.”
