DELEGATION OF THE FA OF SERBIA IN PEĆINCI, EQUIPMENT FOR 15 CLUBS | AND TOWNS WHERE NEW MITROVIĆS, VLAHOVIĆS, TADIĆS, ĐURIČIĆS ARE BORN

26.08.2021.

After Obrenovac, it was a turn for the town of Pećinci. FA of Serbia delegation, consisting of Deputy President, Nenad Bjeković, General Secretary Jovan Šurbatović, A team Head-Coach, Dragan Stojković and Technical Director, Stevan Stojanović visited this small town in Vojvodina and handed over sports equipment to representatives of 15 football clubs from that territory.

Distinguished guests from Belgrade were welcomed by the Pećinci Municipality Mayor, Siniša Đokić and President of the Municipal FA, Dragan Despotović, who reminded that the FA of Serbia had already helped their clubs on several occasions, both with sports equipment and financial means.

Patiently sharing autographs and taking photos with everyone, head-coach of the “Eagles”, Dragan Stojković, attracted the greatest attention among the locals and, what is especially interesting, among the youngest football fans in Pećinci.

“It has always been a pleasure for me to be around children. That’s the way it has been and that’s the way it will stay. It is nice that we have used the opportunity to come to this beautiful place and make these children happy right before the continuation of the qualifications and three very important matches in September. We have a chance to donate again, and I am glad that we can meet the needs of clubs with this sports equipment for training sessions and competitions.”

Head-coach once again emphasized the fact that small towns like Pećinci are football base of Serbia, where new Mitrovićs, Vlahovićs, Tadićs and Đuričićs are born and raised.

“These places are the best sources of talent. We won’t find that in Belgrade, Niš, Novi Sad or any other big city in Serbia. Talents are born in places like this. I have come to these parts often, but I think this is my first time in Pećinci and I feel great. It is nice to get to know your country, place you haven’t been to before – to see who we are, where and what we are.”

“Of course, 4th of September is very important to all of us. We play with Luxembourg, and I hope these children will come to support us in our quest for three new points in the qualifications. For them, that is a dream, and we have an obligation not to disappoint them. We will do our best to leave the stadium happy and satisfied” – said Stojković when signing jerseys, among which was one original from his playing career:

“Man, Mister Baby… that jersey is almost 30 years old… amazing. A really nice memory. I remember that period, that jersey, that commercial…”

Right after donating the equipment, the delegations left the stadium of Donji Srem and moved to the Pećinci Municipality hall, where the mayor Siniša Đokić presented a plaque of gratitude to the FA of Serbia Deputy President, Nenad Bjeković.
