UEFA FUTSAL EURO / POWERFUL PERFORMANCE OF EAGLES AGAINST THE NETHERLANDS, THERE ARE REGRETS DUE TO MANY OBSTACLES

Serbia futsal national team has finished its competition at UEFA Futsal EURO in the Netherlands. In the third match of the group stage the Eagles played well against the tournament hosts; they dominated, created chances, managed to return in the game after being 2 goals behind, and show their true colours, because they have been one of the best European teams for years – 2:3 (1:0). It has to be noted that the team of the head-coach Dejan Maješ was faced with many problems from the start of the preparatory period, and they only continued at the European Championship itself. Injuries and coronavirus eliminated several important players, and Serbia practically finished its participation in the Championship without the head-coach Maješ being able to count of the best team. It is a pity that all that has happened, but it should be noted that futsal Serbia has continued to participate continuously in the major European and world competitions. With two defeats (by Portugal 2:4, by Ukraine 1:6), and one victory against the Netherlands (3:2), Serbia had 3 points in the end of the group stage and ended its competition at the UEFA Futsal EURO due to a lower score in goal difference.
