U19 | IMPORTANT VICTORY OF THE U19 NATIONAL TEAM OF SERBIA AGAINST NORTH MACEDONIA AT THE START OF THE FIRST QUALIFYING ROUND OF THE UEFA U19 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

10.11.2021.

The U19 National Team of Serbia (U19) achieved a very important victory at the start of the tournament of the first round of qualifiers for the UEFA U19 European Championship. The Team led by Head Coach Dejan Brankovic has defeated the national team of North Macedonia in Elbasan (Albania) – 2:1 (0:0) and therefore approached the goal and a qualification for the Elite Round of qualifiers, reserved for two first-placed National teams. The group is consisted of Serbia, France, North Macedonia and Albania.

Serbia scored two goals in the second half of the match, but everything could have been resolved in the first half when our U19 National Team has dominated the game, created goalscoring opportunities, but Ajdar, Lazetić, Mituljikić… were not lucky enough to capitalize chances created by good game. In the second half of the match, Northern Macedonia threatened dangerously on two occasions and fortunately we were not punished for missed goalscoring opportunities.

Justice came in the 56th minute after a penalty, justified (It was a handball by the player from North Macedonia) and few minutes later, Ajdar practically finished the match with the second goal. The U19 National Team of North Macedonia managed to reduce the lead on half by Feta, but Serbia’s victory was not in question. Our U19 National Team will play its second match against the host, Albania on 13.11.
