RESTART OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP ON MAY 30, NO PLAY-OFF, NO PLAY-OUT
On its meeting held earlier today in the FA of Serbia Sports Centre in Stara Pazova, FA of Serbia Emergency Committee made some important decisions for the Serbian club football.
After all Serbia Super League clubs had stated their opinions, it was decided that the four remaining rounds would be played within the 2019/20 season, without play-off and play-out. 11 clubs were in favour of this kind of competition format, while other 5 (Crvena zvezda, Partizan, Čukarički, Radnički Niš and Spartak) were for all 11 rounds to be played.
As for the Serbia First League, only 3 clubs (of 16) voted for playing all 11 remaining rounds. Calendar for the rest of the season spring part was adopted, and 27th round is to be played on May 30, and the last 30th round will be played on June 20.With reference to the next season format, there will be additional consultations with Serbia Super and First League clubs.
Serbia Cup will be played as scheduled. After quarterfinal pairs draw, there will be three rounds before the winner is known, and only one leg will be played. Dates are June 3 (a quarterfinal), June 10 (a semifinal) and June 24 (final match).
Amateur leagues, Serbian league and lower competition leagues were completed on March 15 2020 and will not continue. The same applies for the FA of Serbia youth category leagues. Promotion to a higher level and relegation to a lower one will be applied in accordance with the regulations, as previously specified.
On a proposal by the FA of Serbia Sports Sector, a decision was made to reply to UEFA with reference to the three proposed scenarios for European Championship play-off matches. It will be proposed for both of the matches (semifinals with Norway and potential final) to be played in November.
