INTERNATIONAL U16 "MILJAN MILJANIĆ" TOURNAMENT | SERBIA VICTORY AGAINST MONTENEGRO TO REACH THE FIRST PLACE

The U16 National Team of Serbia is the winner of the traditional International Memorial Tournament “Miljan Miljanic”. The Team led by Head Coach Aleksandar Luković defeated their peers from Montenegro in the final match – 4:3 (0:1).

The match was full of excitement, and we saw a lot of good moves, actions and, the most important of all, beautiful goals. The tournament, named after one of the greatest visionaries in Serbian and Yugoslav football, has once again shown that we will enjoy the moves of some quality players in the future, of the players who had the opportunity to be the participants in the “Miljan Miljanic” Memorial Tournament.

In the match for the 3rd place, the U16 National Team of the Republic of Ireland was better than North Macedonia – 3:2.

 

The best scorer is the Forward of the National Team of Montenegro, Marko Tadić, and he received the award from Mojaš Radonjić, the Director of the Junior National Teams in the FA of Montenegro, a former great striker of FC Budućnost Podgorica.

The best player of the 8th Edition of the International Memorial Tournament “Miljan Miljanić” is member of the National Team of the Republic of Ireland, Trent Kone Doherty. Stanislav Karasi, a former star player of the FC “Red Star” and the National Team of Yugoslavia, to whom Miljan Miljanic was the coach, presented him the Award for the best player of the Tournament.

Then, the General Secretary of the Football Association of Serbia, Jovan Šurbatović, handed over the Trophy for the 2nd to the captain of the U16 National Team of Montenegro, Miloš Vračar.

The happiest moment happened a bit later.

Milos Miljanic, son of Miljan Miljanić handed over the winning trophy to Niksa Delibasic, the captain of the National Team of Serbia, and the players of the National Team led by Aleksandar Lukovic celebrated the victory on the Tournament.
