HEAD-COACH LJUBIŠA TUMBAKOVIĆ IN THE UEFA INTERVIEW | WE WILL NEED LOTS OF PLAYERS LIKE MITROVIĆ IN THE MATCH WITH NORWAY

Serbia head-coach, Ljubiša Tumbaković was interviewed by UEFA after the EQ play-offs draw. Here is the interview in full.

About the rival in the semi play-offs for the EURO 2020…

“We will play against a great team and if there was someone we least wanted in this play-off then it was Norway. They are a good team rising in their results. During the EQ they displayed an interesting group of players, a compact, steady team. At the same time, they have players that deserve a special attention. We will do our utmost to impose ourselves by quality and the the way of our game, and reach the finals” – stated the Serbia head-coach.

How Serbia will prepare for the match in Oslo…

“The very character of the match, meaning it is only one match, defines the way we will play. We will try to show our quality, and simultaneously annul everything good that Norway team has.”

Mitrović is the top scorer…

“He is a part of our best team, and it is good that he constantly proves himself. It is important to keep that continuity till March, maybe even later, since he is our key element. However, we will need lots of players like Mitrović in the match with Norway; we will have to improve fitness level with other player who can potentially be a great danger to the team of Norway.”

How much would it mean to qualify for EURO…

“A lot, since Serbia has not participated in the European Championship for the past 20 years. We would gain continuity if we qualified for EURO. At the moment, sport in Serbia is on a pretty high level and the public can see quality, so it would be good to bring closer our fans and our national team. We will do everything to reach that outcome and qualify for the European Championship” – concluded Ljubiša Tumbaković.
