ALEXANDER THE GREAT | PAST WEEK-END KOLAROV PLAYED HIS 100th MATCH IN ROMA, ONLY LEO MESSI BETTER THAN CAPTAIN OF “EAGLES”

22.10.2019.

Past week-end the “Eagles” captain Aleksandar Kolarov played his 100th match in A.S. Roma’s shirt! The duel with Sampdoria shall remain a cherished memory of the Serbian ace. During the two and half years that “Alexander the Great” is pride of the club from Rome, he has shown impressive results. Kolarov missed only three games for tactical reasons, four because of injury and two because of cards received. With A.S. Roma he realized 50 wins, 27 ties and 23 defeats. He scored 15 goals and 16 assistances. On 10th November he will be 34. Way to go!

Some more statistics for our captain, to the pride of Serbian football and ‘Alexander the Great’: In the past three seasons, counting the “League of Five” only, this ace of A.S. Roma and the Serbian National Team is second-placed according to the number of goals scored from free-kicks. He scored six times, and is outnumbered only by Leo Messi with 12 such goals.

With our National Team Kolarov played 87 times so far, and scored 11 times..

„Personally, I have no ambitions to reach either Bane, Deki or Savo. I soon will be 34, so I have this qualifying round and the play-off, and then we shall see what happens. I’m certainly glad I am near such celebrities of Serbian football. If the opportunity arises, ok. But this is not my main preoccupation. We will see how I feel, I will certainly not play merely to break the record” – said Aleksandar Kolarov.
